Founded in 2016, Sound Aloud exists to equip this generation with the tools to find their voice (identity), release their sound (purpose), and live it ALOUD (unashamed); becoming the sound of freedom to this world. Our heart as a ministry is to use the Creative Arts (fine, performing, visual), holistic health, and mentoring/outreach programs to unleash the treasure that is buried just beneath the surface of our “generationals”. We do this to spark the creative, and vivid imaginations that need motivation and training - the type of training that prepares them to become confident young men and women, and the hope of our future. Our programs and services create positive outlets, give support, nurture dreams, send a message of hope, deal with issues that this generation face, bring cultural awareness, cross religious and cultural boundaries, provide discipleship, help build confidence, build strong self-esteem, character, and create teamwork and connection.
QUALITY: We will work hard to create top quality productions and experiences, on and off stage, with passionate teams and strong leadership. FAMILY-FRIENDLY: We will provide an environment that is welcoming and respectful to all, casting families together whenever possible in order to create joyful experiences and lifelong memories. COMMUNITY: We recognize the special role that the arts play to making strong communities, and will work to keep our activities affordable so they remain accessible to all. While remaining true to our core offering of American musical theater, CVFT has continued to expand our traditional base by partnering with local civic organizations for special events, producing occasional dramatic works, and by creating opportunities for local writers to produce new works.
Founded in 2010, the Charleston International Music School (CIMS) provides excellence in performing arts education here in the Low Country, as well as on a national and global level. Students from around the world are coached by CIMS' international faculty in solo and chamber music performance, as well as music theory, choir, and ear training. CIMS' hallmark is the powerful sense of connection and enthusiasm that it fosters in both students and faculty alike. Students work and perform with musicians of different backgrounds and nationalities, learning to communicate through their music-making. This intensive program creates the best conditions for gifted young musicians to flourish. Our programs are tailored to each student’s level and development, including private lessons, music theory, ear training, chamber music, choir, master classes with CIMS faculty and visiting artists, as well as extracurricular seminars. Throughout our two week Summer festival, students perform at various venues including historical sites in downtown Charleston. Local students study privately with CIMS Faculty, and participate in masterclasses and recitals year round. All CIMS concerts are open to the public and free of charge.
