Fundacion Casa Tres Patios

The Foundation Casa Tres Patios (C3P) is a center for contemporary thought that promotes social justice through research, critical pedagogy, creativity and capacity building. C3P works with vulnerable populations including children, young people, prison inmates, community groups and other institutions. We articulate our research program with our educational program so that we can clearly understand the situations of each community group in order to reduce poverty and economic inequality by providing skills that compliment the formal education system and which are necessary in the 21st century to acquire decent work. We promote gender equality, peace and justice in order to create an environment in which all citizens can live and work freely without fear and repression. Our programs have benefited more than 5,000 people including 3,000 girls, boys and young people, members of the LGTBI community, ex-FARC combatants, municipal employees, inmates in the prison system in Medellin, other community based organizations and the general public in Medellin and the surrounding areas. Through our research and educational programs we inspire, motivate and accompany individuals and organizations in the creation of new visions for the future, and in turning those visions into reality.

Fundacion Entre Tribus

Mission: Improve the quality of life in Africa, according to the specific needs of each place, focusing especially on education, health and nutrition problems, while promoting cultural exchange between communities. Vision: To be seen as a model non-profit organization that supports African community development, helping these communities to be self-sustaining through the good use of their resources. OUR VALUES: Commitment/Passion/Empathy/Service Explanation. Entre Tribus was founded by a group of Chilean professionals who lived a common experience: being volunteers in Africa, contributing and helping with all their knowledge in different communities. Their experiences were the foundation of the dream of creating Entre Tribus, a non-profit organization that brings together professionals with experience in different areas (doctors, dentist, nutritionists, teachers, etc.), in order to contribute in a multidisciplinary way to the development of the African communities they want to empower. That is why Entre Tribus seeks to improve the quality-of-life in Africa according to the needs of each one, focusing mainly on health, food, and education problems. At the same time, Entre Tribus seeks to promote cultural exchange between Chile and the different African communities, so that both learning and teaching are reciprocal. We send volunteers from Latin America to Africa for a year, allowing volunteers and the communities themselves to learn from the different cultures and what each one has to contribute. Trying to bring this life-changing experience to more people. Hence, Entre Tribus seeks to be seen as a model organization that supports African community development, allowing them to, eventually, be self-sustaining through the proper use of their resources but at the same time becoming a model in integration and cultural exchange, especially in a globalized world like the one we live in today.

The Nasio Trust

The Nasio Trust's mission is to break the cycle of poverty and empower communities in western Kenya to become self-sufficient through education, improved health, and food production. The charity sponsors the education, nutrition, and healthcare of 320 orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) in an HIV-prone zone of Kakamega County. It also meets the economic needs of the community by running a sustainable agriculture programme training 600 farmers and improving healthcare outcomes by running a Peer Education Programme on Sexual and Reproductive Health. The Nasio Trust aims to keep OVCs within the community and empowers guardians to earn an income. It also runs a medical centre, treating over 19,000 patients in 2022. The charity's ethos ensures that stakeholders are integral to its decision-making. It works closely with schools, local government, health workers, and religious leaders. The mission started in October 2000, when the late Irene Mudenyo found an abandoned baby in a sugarcane plantation on her farm in a small village in western Kenya. Irene's attempts to find the child's parents or relatives proved futile and during the course of her search the extent to which AIDS and HIV related illness had devastated family life in the local community became apparent. Despite being elderly and a grandmother herself, Irene decided to care for the child naming him Moses. These experiences lead to the formation in 2003 of The Nasio Trust by Irene's daughters. From humble beginnings in a roadside kiosk providing one meal a day to fifteen local children, The Nasio Trust has come a long way.
