Making a donation in someone's name is a meaningful way to honor or remember them, and now you can do so with any Pledge fundraiser. For more information and to see how you can add it to your next fundraiser with Pledge, read more below.
What is a Tribute Gift?
A tribute gift is a commemorative donation made in memory, in honor, or in support of someone or something. For example, if you make a donation to cancer research in memory of your grandfather who passed away from lymphoma, that would be considered a tribute gift.
How Does It Work?
When creating a simple donation form, you can select “Enable tribute donations” when creating your form at the bottom of the page (see image below). Once enabled, all you have to do is select the option to dedicate the donation in honor or in memory of someone.
To enable Tribute Donations on your existing simple Donation Forms, go to the desired fundraiser in your Impact Hub and select the “Edit” button, then click on “Donation Form Settings.” From there, you will be able to select "Enable tribute donations,” similar to the above.
Can I add this to existing fundraising pages (detailed donation pages)?
Yes! Simply go into your Impact Hub and select “Fundraisers” on the far left corner. Once you are redirected to your list of fundraisers, go to the fundraiser you would like to edit and click on the gear icon (see image below) and select “Donation Form Settings.” It’ll then provide you the same option at the bottom of the page to checkmark “Enable Tribute Donations,” and select “Save.”
At this moment, you will only be able to enable Tribute Donations through already created Detailed Fundraiser Pages.
How will the tribute be personalized?
When creating the fundraiser, you can select the option to allow those donating to provide the name and email of the recipient (or if in memoriam, a contact of your choosing - whether a friend or family member), along with a personalized message to the recipient (see image below). This will allow donors to share the connection to why they are making a donation and to whom, and potentially may motivate others to do the same.
