Overview

Identical twin brothers, Angelo and Ettore Rossetti—widely known as The Rossetti Brothers—are no strangers to setting Guinness World Records® for causes close to their hearts. With a commitment to raising funds for Save the Children, they first set the Guinness World Records® title for the Longest Pickleball Rally on World Mental Health Day, October 10, 2021, raising over $100,000 in the process. In their latest record attempt in August 2024, they rallied again to raise awareness and support for children in need, bringing their fundraising total to $107,000 through the power of Pledge's streamlined donation solutions.

The Challenge

The Rossetti Brothers, set out to break another Guinness World Record® for the Longest Pickleball Volley Rally, aiming for 10,000 consecutive shots—all while raising funds for Save the Children. To make the live-streamed event both engaging and impactful, they sought a seamless donation solution that could encourage participation by showcasing in-person and virtual attendees on the stream, securely facilitating donations to Save the Children, and providing detailed donor data.

The Solution

Fundraiser Page Text-To-Donate

After previous success with the Donations by Pledge Zoom app, the Rossetti Brothers partnered with Pledge again to integrate a fundraiser campaign with text-to-donate (text PICKLEBALL to 707070), and a virtual fundraising overlay. Supporters could donate fixed amounts or pledge per shot during the rally, with impact metrics showing each contribution’s effect on Save The Children's mission💜🏓:

  • $10 feeds 1 child for 10 days

  • $100 feeds 1 child for 100 days (pledge $0.01 per volley)

  • $1,000 feeds 10 children for 100 days (pledge $0.10 per volley)

  • $10,000 feeds 100 children for 100 days (pledge $1 per volley)

The setup included a live donor feed, total donations, and a goal meter, driving engagement from both virtual and in-person supporters. With this innovative approach, the Rossetti Brothers achieved a new milestone and now proudly hold 4 world records, continuing their commitment to impactful fundraising, which they dedicated to their late mother and Stand Up to Cancer.
