Public Gallery of Carrboro Inc

Our mission at WCOM is to educate, inspire, and entertain the diverse populations of Carrboro, Chapel Hill and nearby areas. We cultivate local music and facilitate the exchange of cultural and intellectual ideas, with particular regard for those who are overlooked or under-represented by other media outlets. We provide a space for media access and education by providing equipment and training to our community.

Founded in 1966, the Writers Guild Foundation is the premier resource for emerging writers and movie and TV lovers in Hollywood. Boasting a busy calendar of high-value events and a vast, seemingly bottomless toolbox for writers, the Foundation is unmatched in its mission to promote and preserve the craft, history, and voices of screen storytelling. A nonprofit entity, we’re proud of all we do for the community, including our Veterans Writing Project, our High School Screenwriting Workshops, our Archive, and the Shavelson-Webb Library – the world’s only library devoted entirely to writing for the screen.

It is my belief that within St. Louis there are scores of filmmakers with a passion and skill to produce quality and relevant films. Rather than allow a “brain drain” of emerging and talented filmmakers, editors, producers, cinematographers, sound and lighting technicians to find greener pastures it is the hope and belief that by opportunities and funding, St. Louis can become a community that produces ground breaking and innovative filmmakers.
