The Eldercare Foundation directly supports Aberdeen, Mt. Tolmie, Glengarry, Priory, Heritage Woods and Oak Bay Lodge. There are over 700 residents who call one of these care facilities 'home'. The Foundation also supports community programs for seniors such as Adult Day Programs, Community Bathing Programs, the Piercy Respite Hotel and the Yakimovich Wellness Centre which provides free education to seniors and their families to help them navigate the journey of aging. Through our Education Endowment Program, we provide funding to help professional caregivers upgrade their skills and knowledge to better care for our valued elders. Through our Embrace Aging initiative, we are reaching further into the community to promote and inspire positive aging and raise awareness about the many resources, educational opportunities and activities available to seniors and their family caregivers to help them Be Well; Be Secure; Be Connected and Be Enriched ~ our four pillars of positive aging.
As many as 2000 homeless people live in Winnipeg, the coldest capital city in the world. Every day, Siloam Mission is visited by 400 - 500 homeless people. We care for the poor, the addicted, the hungry, those afflicted with all kinds of sicknesses, the outcasts, and the homeless.

Formerly Medical Development for Israel The Children’s Health Alliance for Israel (CHAI) is an American non-profit organization founded in 1982 to support state-of-the art clinical services, research, training, and capital projects at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel. The mission of the Children’s Health Alliance for Israel (CHAI) is to offer support to ensure that children receive the finest care that pediatric medicine has to offer at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel. Schneider Children’s is the first and only pediatric tertiary care hospital of its kind in Israel and the Middle East providing comprehensive care to all children, irrespective of race, religion, or nationality. Since its inception, the Medical Center has raised the level of children’s care to the highest standards of medical excellence.
We provide compassionate care for individuals, their families, friends and caregivers facing a life threatening illness, extending through bereavement. Our services include a Palliative Care program, Bereavement Care program, Caregiver Support and Training.
In the past year, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, assisted approximately 28,000 neighbours in Waterloo Region. Yearly, The Food Bank distributes over 3 million pounds of food to community individuals who are facing challenging circumstances. Food is distributed through a partnership of 76 member agencies and community programs which provide emergency food hampers and meals. Clinic Nepal is a non-profit organization that provides vital healthcare services to the Meghauli and Daldale communities in Nepal. The organization was founded in 1997 by Hari Bhandary, with a vision to improve access to education, healthcare, clean water and sanitary facilities in the region. The organization’s core services include a Friendship Clinic, which offers general medical care and a range of specialized services such as pediatrics, gynecology, and infectious disease control. Additionally, Clinic Nepal operates the Friendship Scout Troop, which encourages young people to take an active role in their community through leadership and volunteer opportunities. The Wolfgang and Prabhat Kindergartens in the Meghauli area provide early childhood education, while the Asha Kokiran Children’s Hostel and Kindergarten in Daldale provide a safe and nurturing environment for children who otherwise would not have access to education. One of the key aspects of Clinic Nepal’s mission is to empower the community to be self-reliant, they also help in sponsorship of over 150 students in both academic and vocational capacities, by providing them with education and training opportunities. The organization has also made a significant impact in the region through the installation of clean water pumps and sanitary latrines, and by conducting recurring health camps. Clinic Nepal relies on the support of sponsors, volunteers, interns, and other friends from all around the world to continue its important work.
