We are a nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to under served immigrant children, families, and refugees. With legal services, social programs, bond assistance, and an advocacy team focused on changing the narrative around immigration in this country, RAICES is operating on the national front lines of the fight for immigration rights. We defend the rights of immigrants and refugees, empower individuals, families, and communities, and advocate for liberty and justice. Since 2018, our Bond Fund is the largest in the nation with just under $12 million spent to secure the release of more than 1,200 individuals from ICE detention. Our San Antonio Bus Station Project helped more than 9,000 adults and 12,000 children released from detention understand their legal rights. We have a volunteer program with over 5,000 trained volunteers and pro bono lawyers to perform essential tasks such as accompanying people to ICE check-ins and preparing detained clients for credible fear interviews.

Every child deserves hope. Since 2004, Hope Endowment has provided housing, food, clothing, medical and social services to the children we serve in India. Our mission continues to this day as we provide for the children under our care. Girls Garage is a nonprofit design and building program and dedicated workspace for girls and female-identifying youth ages 9-18. Girls Garage is the first design and building workshop for female youth in the United States. Through after-school and summer pathways, Girls Garage provides free and low-cost programs in carpentry, welding, architecture, engineering, and activist art to a diverse community of 200 girls per year. Integrating technical skills, college/career guidance, and community leadership, our programs equip girls the tools to build the world they want to see. In our workshop in Berkeley and under the guidance of our highly skilled all-female staff, we invite girls to bring their creative voice and put them to work on real-world building projects that live in our community.

Sewa International is a Hindu faith-based, humanitarian, nonprofit service organization registered under Internal Revenue Code 501 (c) (3). Founded in 2003, Sewa International is part of a larger movement that started in India in 1989 and has currently spread to 20 countries. Sewa serves humanity irrespective of race, color, religion, gender or nationality. We specialize in disaster relief and rehabilitation. Our development programs focus on family services; child, tribal and refugee welfare; women empowerment; health; and education. In addition to the US, we conduct development projects in Columbia, Guyana, India, Kenya, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Sewa’s volunteers are energetic, inspiring, selfless, and committed.

Our mission is to help small-scale farmers in West Africa move out of poverty by earning sustainable livelihoods from their farms. We believe the solution lies in giving families the ability to invest their own resources in appropriate fertilizer, seed and modern agricultural techniques so they can enjoy increased harvests and income every year. myAgro provides increased financial access to family farms by giving local farmers the ability to pay for the tools and supplies they need on savings layaway, via a mobile money service that is accessible from even the most hard-to-reach villages. This innovation adapts an old concept – layaway plans – to a new context – rural farmers living on less than $2 a day – and it uses a familiar technology – the mobile phone – that is easy, convenient and trusted. We also provide our farmers with agricultural experts to accompany them during planting so they can gain the most benefit possible from their investment, and with direct market access to purchasers so they can get the most income from their harvests. Our model is an extremely efficient way of addressing rural poverty and food insecurity. Our vision is to move a million small-scale farmers beyond subsistence farming and out of poverty by 2025 by scaling our programs in West Africa and by creating a model that other distribution networks around the world can integrate into their own program offerings.
