Goals: Our primary goals are to: frame clear disease mechanisms and models; find effective treatments and diagnostic markers; increase accurate diagnoses; and ensure access to quality care.

Connecticut Children's Medical Center is dedicated to improving the physical and emotion health of children. The Night Ministry was created out of diverse religious traditions to build relationships with vulnerable youth and adults on the nighttime streets. Today, we build relationships in a variety of settings. Through these relationships and the provision of housing, health, outreach, spiritual, and social services, we seek to empower people of all ages to meet their own needs. Recognizing the uniqueness, dignity, and value of each person, we accept individuals as they are, in an affirming and compassionate manner. We call the larger community to the same mission. Since 1976, The Night Ministry, a non-profit, non-denominational social service organization has served people at difficult crossroads in their lives. We work to build relationships with youth and adults we serve - regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identification or social status. We offer concrete services in compassionate, accepting environments. Through our two programs, Outreach & Health, and Youth Services, we provide basic resources, free healthcare, housing and supportive services for youth, referrals to other resources, and more. We do not proselytize, evangelize or espose any particular faith tradition. Our ministry is one of serving. The Night Ministry serves homeless and runaway youth, working poor adults, uninsured and underinsured individuals seeking medical assistance and others Staff and volunteers work to build non-judgmental relationships aimed at empowering individuals to meet their own needs. We try to help those we serve find and use their own strengths and resources.

The mission of Casting for Recovery (CfR) is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. The retreats offer opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature. CfR’s retreats are open to breast cancer survivors of all ages, in all stages of treatment and recovery, and are free to participants. On a physical level, the gentle, rhythmic motion of fly casting is similar to exercises often prescribed after surgery or radiation to promote soft tissue stretching. On an emotional level, women are given the opportunity to experience a new activity in a safe environment amongst a supportive group of peers. The retreats provide resources to help address quality of life issues after a breast cancer diagnosis, and a new outlet – fly fishing – as a reprieve from the everyday stresses and challenges of their cancer.

Mission: We are committed to a culture of responsibility and dignity and to leading our local community in the fight against hunger by efficiently providing access to food and nutritious meals. Feeding San Diego builds local and national partnerships with purpose. Founded in 2007 by the wildfires in San Diego, Feeding San Diego is now the leading hunger-relief organization in the county, distributing healthy food with dignity to San Diego residents struggling with hunger. Our non-profit organization, funded by philanthropic and community support, is devoted to feeding the hungry, advocacy and education. FSD is committed to solving hunger in our communities and informing the public on the issues of food insecurity, nutrition and poverty. We fight hunger locally by working hand-in-hand with partner agencies, local school districts, corporate partners and a network of volunteers to serve 63,000 children, families and seniors in need each week. This past year, we provided over 25 million meals to San Diegans struggling with food insecurity - an 18 percent increase from the previous year, which indicates that more families in need are seeking our services than ever before. Each year, Feeding San Diego is working to move more food into the community in order to close the meal gap. Feeding San Diego takes a holistic approach to solving hunger and food-related issues in our community. We fight hunger locally by working hand-in-hand with 150 agency partners (food pantries, soup kitchens, healthcare centers and other community resources) and through direct service programs in areas central to clients' lives (School Pantries, Mobile Pantry sites, senior centers, USO sites) to provide healthy food with dignity to 63,000 children, families and seniors in need each week. Our unique distribution model, which leverages both national and local partnerships, ensures that we are not simply banking food - we are Feeding San Diego. In addition to our food-service programs, Feeding San Diego acts as an advocate at the local and state level to protect government hunger-relief services like CalFresh. CalFresh is an assistance program crucial to helping low-income, food-insecure families stretch their grocery budgets, freeing limited resources for use on other household essentials. Feeding San Diego holds numerous outreach events designed to help clients determine their CalFresh eligibility and apply to the program.

Mission MSA (formerly the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition) is a positive beacon of hope standing up to a little known, rare, insidious disorder. Mission MSA has a primary purpose of assisting researchers to find a cure. In the meantime, Mission MSA also provides much needed patient and caregiver support, educational resources, and advocacy to create awareness and to fight for issues important to the MSA community. Be The Match Foundation supports the life-saving mission of Be The Match/National Marrow Donor Program, ensuring that patients diagnosed with blood cancers such as leukemia and other diseases get the marrow or cord blood transplant they need for a second chance at life. A transplant offers hope for a cure. We connect patients with their genetically matched donors and provide comprehensive support throughout the transplant journey, from diagnosis through recovery.

Cultural Care Kids First Foundation, drawing on the strength of the global community of Cultural Care Au Pair, provides resources to support organizations that strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of children in need around the world.

Triumph Foundation's mission is to help children, adults, & Veterans with spinal cord injury, paralyzing disorders, and disabilities to triumph over obstacles they face and to inspire them to keep moving forward with their lives by pushing themselves to get better every day. Founded in 2008, Triumph Foundation provides critical assistance through its Newly Injured Support, Grants & Equipment, and Adaptive Recreation programs.Triumph provides resources, hope and security to families dealing with paralysis – both initially when the injury/disorder occurs, and as a lifelong support network. Additionally, we hold events that are a captivating force within the entire community. We are the go-to organization for people living with mobility impairments in Southern California.
