In this situation a person is not acting in a special way, and their eventual response is free, lasting, and more fully themselves.

Causa Justa :: Just Cause builds grassroots power and leadership to create strong, equitable communities. Born through mergers between Black organizations and Latino organizations, we build bridges of solidarity between working class communities. Through rights-based services, policy campaigns, civic engagement, and direct action, we improve conditions in our neighborhoods in the san francisco bay area, and contribute to building the larger multi-racial, multi-generational movement needed for fundamental change.
THE WANDA ALSTON FOUNDATION SERVES AS THE FIRST AND ONLY HOUSING PROGRAM IN WASHINGTON, DC THAT IS SOLELY DEDICATED TO OFFERING PRE-INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES TO HOMELESS LGBTQ YOUTH AGES 16-24. THESE SERIVES INCLUDE: LONG-TERM TRANSTITIONAL LIVING, CASE MANAGEMENT, EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT, JOB TRAINING AND GUIDANCE, AND SUPPORT SERVICE REFERRALS. HOUSE RESIDENTS HAVE THEIR OWN ROOMS AND LIVE WITH AN ADVOCATE WITH EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE WITH HOUSING AND LGBTQ ISSUES. ADDITIONALLY, THE FOUNDATION OFFERS EACH YOUTH A LIFE SKILLS COUNSELOR WHO WORKS WITH THE RESIDENTS DAILY ON ISSUES RELATING TO EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL TRAINING, HOUSING, AND OTHER MATTERS AS NECESSARY
